North Georgia Lakes are on Fire
- On November 15, 2016
The North Georgia Lakes are on fire, yes we have a lot of wild fires going on in the mountains. But the fishing is also on fire, with the lakes already down to their winter pools and water temps dropping. The Spotted bass have really been feeding on Lake Chatuge and Lake Blue Ridge the past couple weeks, we are catching good numbers and some good size fish. The fishing is only going to get better as we approach December, It never gets to cold to fish. If you have never fished when it’s 18 degrees out, you have know ideal what you’re missing. This is the one time of year that the fish will bunch up off points and in the mouths of pockets and ditches and feed together. Some off my best fishing trips have been when it’s cold, also when the water temp reaches 55 we will start throwing the float-n-fly. When fishing in the winter you always dress in layers and we alway have a thermos of coffee for our clients. The pictures below are pictures of past winter bass, 9.10oz Largemouth bass caught in February and a 6.5 Spotted bass caught in January. Give us a call and get your winter trip booked.
