Lake Chatuge Spotted Bass
- On July 28, 2016
The Spotted bass on Lake Chatuge have been gorging themselves on herring this month. We’ve been starting our mornings out with a good top water bite in the flats and pockets. But the past few days we’ve been having storms in the evenings and up in the nights, which has made for cloudy nights and cloudy mornings. When this happens the bait will scatter, when we have bright clear nights the herring will feed and so will the bass. This is when the bass try pushing them up in the flats and pockets. So the first thing in the morning going into theses areas you see a lot of suspended fish on your graph waiting for the herring to exit back out to the deep water. But today we had to change-up our tackle and go to old faithful the Dropshot rig with a 4.5″ RoboWorm. Cause most of the fish we marked today was on the bottom instead of suspending, so we used our graphs to locate these fish in the same areas we’ve been fishing top water. The fish are still hanging in theses areas they’ve just moved out more to the mouth of these areas in deeper water. Give us a call and book your trip today.
