In September of 2018, Lake Chatuge, located in the North Georgia Mountains will be hosting the Bassmaster Top 50 Anglers of the Year. The exact dates are Sept 20-23, 2018. These anglers will be competing for a total of  $1 million dollars, with 1st place paying out $100 thousand. This will be one of the biggest payouts ever on this lake. Lake Chatuge was also the host of the Bassmaster Carhartt College Championship in 2013 and 2014. A few of the well-known anglers that could possibly make the top 50 cut are: Kevin VanDam, Skeet Reese, Michael Iaconelli, Greg Hackney, Jacob Wheeler, Brandon Palaniuk, Jordan Lee, Matt Lee and the list goes on. Lake Chatuge is 7,500 acres and has 132 miles of shoreline with plenty of floating boat docks. Unlike the Tennessee River Chain, where there is a constant current, this lake is an impoundment and was built to help reduce flood damage downstream. Lake Chatuge has plenty of big Spotted Bass along with some nice size Largemouth Bass.  It’s going to be awesome to see how the pro anglers do on our home lake.  Here’s a few photos of Lake Chatuge Bass from past guide trips.
