Lake Chatuge fishing is getting hot, the lake is starting to come up and the water temp is 56-58 degrees. The spotted bass are starting to spawn, you can find them out off long rocky points and spawning flats. Early morning they’ve been close to the banks but as the sun gets up later in the day they move out to the 12 to 18 foot deep range. I’m targeting these fish with tube baits, flukes, crawfish on a shaky head, trick worm on shaky head and jigs. There are some largemouth bass starting to spawn in the back of the pockets, you will also see some cruising around. I’m targeting these fish with swim baits, flukes and swim jigs.
