Lake Burton fishing is fixing to get hot
- On March 25, 2018
Lake Burton fishing is just a few days away from getting hot, I had the Pleasure of taking Charles and Lenny out Friday. The water temp was 49-52 degrees, It’s dropped back down the past couple of weeks with the cold nights and windy days we’ve been having. Hopefully the weather is going to stabilize and we will see some fish start locking down on beds toward the end of the month. One rule that has always worked in the North Georgia mountains is when the dogwood trees start blooming, it’s time to start looking for bed fish. We didn’t catch a lot of fish, but we did mark some good one’s on the graph that are out in 12′ of water waiting to move up to the spawning areas. We did catch a couple nice fish like the Largemouth bass and the Spotted bass in the picture below. You can catch fish around docks throwing a shaky head with a Strike King 6.5 finesse worm. The new MinnKota Ultrex trolling motor is the real deal in wind, spot lock will keep you right where you set it and you can and retie and never lose your spot. “Looking to take a guided fishing trip?
