Dale Hollow Lake Trip
- On January 17, 2017
We made our annual trip to Dale Hollow lake last week, for some Smallmouth action. Dale Hollow holds the world record Smallmouth that weighed 11lb 15oz caught by David L Hayes in 1955. If you ever plan on going there to fish, give Horse Creek Marina a call, great place to stay. We got there Monday morning after the 2″ of snow that we got over the weekend had melted. Our conditions for the week was not the greatest, we had 10-15mph winds with gust of 30mph everyday. It was also cloudy everyday, that’s great when its hot weather, but I like some sun in the Winter fishing for Smallmouth. We manage to catch some Largemouth and Spotted bass also, there was no real patterns. The fish was scattered all over the lake and ranged from 8-40 feet of water. The baits we caught most of our fish on was jigs, tube baits and swimbaits. But we had a great time and good Lords willing will do it again next year.
Spring fishing is just around the corner, gives us a call and get your trip booked.
