We’ve been having some awesome trips on Blue Ridge Lake, from beginners to avid anglers. The Spotted bass are spawning all over the lake, with some Smallmouth bass mixed in. Also on sunny days you will see the blueback herring running the banks trying to spawn. This has brought the Walleye up shallow, I’ve caught more Walleye the past two weeks then I have in the last 5 Yrs. There is also Largemouth bass in the back of pockets trying to spawn. I’ve been targeting the Spotted bass with tubes, Strike King Sexy Dawg Jr and KVD 200 series jerkbait. The Walleye has also been hitting the tube and Chartreuse twister. The Largemouth bass are hitting a shaky head and a fluke. Check out the picture of  my daughter and I went the other afternoon and took our weenie dog and when my daughter hooked into this good smallmouth and it started pulling drag and went airborne so did the weenie dog right after it, dog is still focused on fish in the picture.
